Being 70 doesn’t limit you to going to Bognor Regis any more
One of the most important social changes in the last couple of decades has been not just an ageing population, but an ageing active population. The post-war baby boomers are coming up to retirement or have already taken it. What’s more, they have the benefit of the greatest period of economic growth the world has ever seen so they not only have time and longevity on their side, they also have money. You’d think insurance companies would be opening their arms with glee to welcome them through the checkout (online or otherwise). Well, apparently not. Take Norman Bates, from Norwich for example, he’s 80 and has angina.
“We have been on several cruises in the past and have always used the same insurer. They gave us all the cover my wife and I needed as well as covering my medical condition (and took into account our ages!). We have never had reason to make a claim. The cost has always been in the £200 region, however this year there was quite a hike to £620. We were given no real reason for the increase, other than the insurer’s costs had gone up and to be honest this attitude combined with the price hike was not acceptable to us. So we shopped around.
We found World First.
“We were very impressed by the team at World First, and most importantly by the price of £199 which was still fully comprehensive and covered my angina. It means we can still go on our cruise with peace of mind. I am now telling all my friends about World First and I know several have bought policies already.”
So it’s not an inevitability any more, baby boomers (and even their parents!) are not limited to Bognor Regis, they can still travel the world and not have to worry if something happens (not that there’s anything at all wrong with Bognor Regis, even in winter, I’ve been there).

70 is the new 50…and with more life to live, why not spend it on a sandy beach in Jamaica? And I agree, Bognor Regis is a beautiful place even in the winter. Not sure why the stigma for old folks
