Why we support World Aids Day.

The 1st of December is World Aids Day. The reason we observe it is to show our support for people living with HIV and to remember those people we know who have died from the disease.

The statistics surrounding HIV are simply staggering. There are estimated to be at least 34 million people living with HIV around the world, with 100,000 of them in the UK. It is also estimated that over  35 million people have died from the virus. It beggars belief, doesn’t it?

So there is every reason to show your support by wearing a red ribbon and by helping to raise money for the National Aids Trust. It’s a very simple way of contributing to World Aids Day.

Here at World First we are big supporters of World Aids Day. In fact, you could say it’s in our DNA as a company. In 1991, after a ten year battle with the world’s underwriters, we were the first company to be able to offer a policy for people living with HIV. We were also able to make it affordable.

Since then we’ve come a long way and can now offer some of the best value travel policies out there for people living with all kinds of other conditions, including cancer and heart conditions.

It’s a trailblazing path we have always been proud to follow.

Because travel is a great thing. And everyone should be able to do it if they want to. Their medical condition shouldn’t be the thing that holds them back.

We certainly won’t.
