Which type of travel insurance is right for you?

Most people buy single trip or annual travel insurance policies. But you could save money by getting something slightly different; something that’s better suited to your travel plans.

In our recent travel survey, we asked our readers about the type of travel insurance policy they had last purchased. A whopping 93.16% bought either single trip or annual cover.

But there are lots of other types of travel insurance policy. Looking beyond single trip and annual cover could help you find travel insurance that’s way better for your personal circumstances - and you could even save money too.

Here’s what you can expect from some of the different policies we sell here at World First.

Last minute travel insurance - skip the unnecessary stuff

Are you the impulsive type that likes to travel on a whim? Have you found a last minute offer that’s just too tempting to resist? When spontaneity calls, you can save money on travel insurance.

We have created a last minute policy that includes all the stuff you need for your travel cover and nothing that you don’t. By stripping out cancellation protection (who needs to cancel when the runway is within touching distance?) you can enjoy cheaper premiums that leave a little extra in your holiday spending budget.

Group travel insurance - discounts for multiple travellers

Whether you are travelling with family, friends or colleagues, getting travel cover for your entire group on one policy can save you a lot of hassle. Best of all it can save you money too - because here at World First we offer discounts for groups.

Of course we understand that different people have different requirements from their travel policies. That’s especially true if one or more of your group are travelling with medical conditions. Not a problem. Each member of your group can choose the best policy for their circumstances - and you still benefit from group savings. Kerching!

Cruise travel insurance - plain sailing without big premiums

Did you know that some cruise lines won’t allow you on board until you have purchased travel insurance? That can sometimes mean taking out expensive cover at your departure port. Be prepared with World First’s cruise travel insurance.

We’ll cover the entire cost of your cruise if you need to cancel at the last minute. You will also receive compensation if your ship misses a port or you become poorly on board and are confined to your cabin.

Winter sports travel insurance - peace of mind for the piste

Most standard travel insurance policies don’t cover winter sports. So it’s important to get the right cover before you take to the piste. Here at World First we’ll cover up to £10 million medical costs if you take a tumble on the slopes and need treatment. We also cover the loss or damage of your equipment and will even compensate you if the piste is closed due to bad weather.

As well as winter sports and the 150 activities that are automatically included with all World First policies, we also have specialist policies for surfing, kitesurfing, scuba diving, mountaineering and golf. Take your pick. We’ve got you - and all of that expensive kit - covered.

Wedding travel insurance - tying the knot on your travels

Getting hitched on your holidays? Well you could benefit from a little extra oomph in your policy. For all the lovebirds out there, we have designed a unique wedding travel insurance policy that protects your rings, your wedding attire, your photography and your cameras as well as all the regular stuff you’d expect from a reliable travel insurance policy. Nothing should spoil your big day. But if something unexpected happens we will be there.
